Summer in La Clusaz

La Clusaz is a genuine working alpine village and has embraced the investment in local infrastucture but has retained traditional charm and atmosphere for you to appreciate. There are numerous summer leisure activities for you to enjoy when the snow starts to recede up the mountains around the month of May. The winter pistes are transformed into green pastures, the cows return to graze on the mountains and the local farms spring into action.

In the height of summer,the shops, bars and restaurants are filled with local and tourists alike, enjoying great weather in the fresh mountain air. The climate in summer is generally very warm with temperatures often up to 30C or more.

Aquatic Centre - La Clusaz

Espace Aquatique: A superb open air and covered swimming pool complex which is available in the summer and winter seasons enabling you to swim in the open air surrounded by the Aravis mountains! (water temperature is maintained at 29decC) There is also a gym in the complex and using this gives you access to the sauna, hammam etc.

Local Market: Every Monday morning, the centre of La Clusaz is transformed into a market where you can purchase quality local produce.

Ice Skating Rink - La Clusaz

Ice Skating Rink: In the centre of La Clusaz, there is a 100 sqm covered Ice Skating Rink available all year round for you to enjoy. At certain times of the day there are family sessions for the younger members with sit on sledges and various obstacles for you to skate around and under! This is great fun for all the family and a good way to introduce skating to children.

Summer Luge in La Clusaz

Summer Luge: The start of the Summer Luge is at the top of the Patinoire Telecabine, located just 500m from the apartment. You have a choice of two lanes, for beginners or experts and the runs are both around 800km long. You can purchase tickets for this opposite the Ice Rink and next to the Patinoire Telecabine. This is great fun for all the family as you can ride the Luge either by yourself or with your child and have a race down the mountain to see who wins with your friends or family members!

Tennis in La Clusaz

Tennis: There are two tennis courts in the centre of the village (near to the school) and a further three courts located on the road to the Lac des Confins. These courts are about 1km from the village centre and is run by 'Club des Sports'. Further details can be obtained from their website:

Golfing in La Clusaz

Golf: Near Lac des Confins (about 1.5km from the village) you will find a five hole golf course, a 12-bay driving range a nine hole putting green and a golf school. In addition, there is a nine hole golf course in the neighbouring village of Le Grand Bornand. This is called 'Le Rocher Blanc' at the foot of the Aravis Mountains.

Also, you will also find two 'Mini-Golf' courses in the centre of La Clusaz and also at the lec des Confins.

Via Ferrata in La Clusaz

Via Ferrata: This is a cross between hiking and mountaineering. It is esentially made up of traverses, partly on grassy ledges but mainly on steep rocky shelves. There is an airry footbridge between two ridges and a choice of final exit: one a demanding overhang and the other easy going. Start Via Ferrata at 1500m and finish at 1800m and the length is 700m.

Spa Days and Well-Being: For those who like to have a complete rest and look forward to a relaxing day in the mountains, you are well catered for. You are able to go to a number of Spa's in and around La Clusaz. Further details can be found from the Tourist Office to find a suitable establishment that would suit your requirements.

Restaurants - La Clusaz

Restaurants: After your day in the mountains, you will find some quality restaurants located within walking distance to Chalet Bleuet for you to enjoy, namely 'La Ferme', a popular eating place for local residents (850m from apartment), and 'Le Vieux Chalet' a 4 Star Restaurant located at the top of the 'Patinoire' Telecabine, (500m from the apartment).

Horseriding in La Clusaz

Horseriding: All levels of lessons and horse rides (from age 12) are available in La Clusaz. There is a Village Pony Club (located near the ice skating rink) to cater for the 5-11 age group. Also, there is the Confins Pony Club (located near the Confins church) where parents can lead a pony for their children.
